  • ✔ Relevant Fields of Study: Candidates must specialize in disciplines aligned with FAO’s mission and work areas.
  • ✔ Language Proficiency: Must have working knowledge of at least one FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, or Spanish). Proficiency in a second FAO language is an asset. Only UN-accredited language certificates or FAO’s official language exams (LPE, ILE, LRT) will be accepted as proof.
  • ✔ Nationality Requirement: Open to nationals of FAO Member States.
  • ✔ Age Limit: Applicants must be between 21 and 30 years old at the time of application.
  • ✔ Adaptability & Communication Skills: Must be able to thrive in an international, multicultural environment and demonstrate strong communication skills.
  • ✔ Family Employment Restriction: Candidates with immediate family members (parents or siblings) employed by FAO under any contract type are not eligible.
  • ✔ Residency & Immigration Status: Applicants must have the appropriate residence or work authorization in the designated internship location before starting the program.
